Finally. A Star Wars Game Where You’re Not a Jedi.
No lightsaber. No Force powers. Just a blaster, a fast ship, and a mountain of debt. Star Wars Outlaws PC Download puts you in the boots of Kay Vess, a small-time crook trying to pull off one big heist . And honestly? It’s refreshing.
The year is somewhere between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi . The Empire is still breathing down everyone’s neck. But that’s not your problem. Your problem is the gangs you’ve pissed off. Pykes. Hutts. Crimson Dawn. Everyone wants a piece of you.
Here’s the pitch. You fly to different planets. You sneak into restricted areas. You steal stuff. You run away. Repeat until rich. It’s not complicated. But it works.
Two Halves of One Adventure
The game splits into ground missions and space travel. Both feel distinct. Both are fun.
On the ground: You explore planets like Toshara, Akiva, and Kijimi . Each one has dense cities, open landscapes, and plenty of trouble. You’ve got a speeder bike to zoom around. Kay uses cover-based shooting, stealth takedowns, and a helpful alien buddy named Nix . Nix can distract guards, trigger switches, and fetch items. He’s adorable.
In space: You fly the Trailblazer, your trusty ship. No loading screens when taking off or landing . Dogfight TIE fighters. Hyperspace jump to new systems. Smuggle cargo past Imperial patrols. It feels seamless.
The reputation system ties everything together . Help a syndicate, and they’ll like you. Better prices. Access to restricted areas. Betray them, and they send hit squads. Every mission changes who’s angry at you.
What Works (And What Doesn’t)
Let me be straight. This game isn’t perfect.
The good stuff: The atmosphere is incredible. Walking through a Star Wars cantina, hearing the music, seeing aliens speak their native languages—it’s immersive. The open worlds feel alive. Side quests are everywhere . Nix is a joy. The space combat is a nice surprise.
The not-so-good: Stealth is everywhere. Like, constantly . And it’s not great stealth. Guard sightlines feel unfair. Instant fail states pop up randomly. Early missions force pure sneaking with zero combat. It gets old fast.
Enemy AI can be dumb . Shoot one guy from cover. His friend stands there. Shoots back. Repeat. Not much variety.
And yes—Ubisoft bloat is real . The map gets cluttered with icons. Fetch quests pile up. If you hated the busywork in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, you’ll see similar patterns here.
The Steam Launch Changed Things
Here’s important news. The game launched on Steam on November 21, 2024 . Same day as the Wild Card DLC dropped.
Along with that came a massive update (version 1.4.0) .
- Mandatory stealth requirements removed from many missions
- You can now use weapons freely in previously restricted areas
- Enemy AI improved
- Better detection warnings
- New weak spots on enemies
- Animation and facial expression upgrades
Steam reviews sit at around 70% positive . That’s not amazing. But it’s way better than launch week reviews on other platforms. The patches helped.
Season Pass and Future Content
The Ultimate and Gold editions include a Season Pass . Two story packs are planned:
- Wild Card (released November 2024)
- A Pirate’s Fortune (coming later)
Jabba’s Gambit is a Day 1 exclusive mission. Plus cosmetic bundles like Kessel Runner and Cartel Ronin.
If you just want the base game? Standard Edition is fine. The DLC adds good stuff, but you won’t miss critical story beats without it.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Star Wars Outlaws free to play?
No. Standard Edition is $69.99 USD (S$94.90 on Steam) . Gold and Ultimate editions cost more. But Ubisoft+ subscribers can play it as part of that service.
Where can I get the Star Wars Outlaws PC download safely?
Stick to Steam or Ubisoft Connect . Those are the official stores. Epic Games Store also sells it. Avoid random “free download” sites—the game just hit Steam, and any crack is fake.
Do I need an internet connection to play it?
Yes for initial activation and updates. Ubisoft games usually need a one-time online handshake. After that? You can play offline for a while before it asks to reconnect.
What is the total download file size?
65 GB on PC . That’s reasonable by modern standards. But you absolutely need an SSD. The game requires it .
Is the game still buggy?
It’s better than launch. Update 1.4.0 fixed a lot—removed mandatory stealth, improved AI, added better detection warnings . Frame drops still happen on mid-range PCs . But overall? Playable. Fun even. Just don’t expect Jedi: Survivor levels of polish.
